About us

Figurehead Theatre is a devising company from Glasgow, Scotland led by Artistic Director Josh Dodds. We develop and perform new work that is grounded in textual research, formed through collaborative workshopping and animated by sound and music. Our work is engaged with the multiplicity of identity, acts of communing and the balance of freedom.

We stage work both in Scotland and internationally and have been commissioned by the Wee Theatres Festival, the Alasdair Cameron Festival and have had our most recent show programmed at the 2025 Prague Fringe Festival.

All our performers play an active role in creating our work and contribute to our identity as a theatre collective.
